After a life on the streets and a TVT, Carol is ready for a welcoming home and some TLC!
Hi friends, my name is Carol! I can’t wait to tell you more about myself. I’ve had a hard life so far, but don’t let that get you down. I’m still young (2-3 years old), full of life and ready for a fresh start with my forever family! I’m a female terrier mix weighing about 30 pounds, and I think I’m around three or four years old. I used to live on the streets, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at me now. I’m great on the leash and I love going out for walks! I’m potty trained too and go outside multiple times per day to take care of business.
I had several litters of puppies while I was homeless. When I was found, I was pregnant again, and I also had one of my babies from a previous litter with me. I was in bad shape when they found me. I had a severe TVT tumor that was so large it actually protruded from my body. Luckily, my foster family took me in and gave me a safe place to give birth. Seven of my puppies survived. And once that was done, I was able to start chemotherapy! TVT tumors are canine sexually transmitted and extremely treatable, so I got right on the road to recovery and never looked back. I made amazing progress very quickly, and I’m feeling so much better now. My tumor is gone, and I only have two more treatments left – just as a precaution!
I absolutely love to be the center of attention, and I can be pretty hard to resist! I want all the loves and cuddles you can give me. I’m a calm dog and don’t show any signs of separation anxiety. All I want is to be a great companion and give you unconditional love. I’ll be your coworker, your snuggle buddy, or your movie partner. As long as I’m with you, I’ll be content.
I’d fit in well to a variety of different households. Being the only dog in the family would be fine for me, but I would also do well with other fur siblings as long as we’ve had proper introductions. My current foster home has a great dane, two frenchies and a bulldog, and I get along with all of them. I haven’t met any cats so I’m not sure how I feel about them, but I’d definitely do well with human siblings, since I am very mellow and know how to be gentle. I’m so loving and loyal, I just know I’ll be the perfect dog for my new family.
My adoption fee is $400, which covers my first year of vaccinations, the cost of my spay surgery, and my microchip. Can I come live with you in your home? I have so much joy to share! You can apply to adopt me by filling out the form at http://www.thecantufoundation.org/adopt.html. I hope to meet you soon!
