Life’s always better with Chocolate!
Hey everybody, it’s me: Chocolate! And yes, I am just as sweet as my name implies. Maybe even sweeter! I’m a two- or three-year-old female Chihuahua/mini pinscher mix, and I weigh only ten pounds. I am not spayed or fully vaccinated yet, but if you adopt me, the adoption fee will cover the cost to get those done before I go home with you. I’m perfectly potty trained, and I’m not crate trained because I’m always such a good girl whenever my foster family has to leave me home alone. I don’t show any signs of separation anxiety, which is great! Leash training is something I need to work on, though – I’ve been a little too skittish to go for any walks yet. But don’t worry… my foster family says I learn very fast!
My first owners abandoned me when they found out I was pregnant. Then, I was rescued by the Cantu Foundation when I ran out in front of one of their volunteers when they were driving by. It’s almost like I knew there was someone in the car that could help me! Because of course, once they saw me, they saved me right away. It’s like the quote says: “when it comes to Chocolate, resistance is futile!” I may have had a rough start to life, but I’m a brave girl. One of the only things that scares me now is loud noises. My foster family isn’t sure if I’m dog or cat friendly, but I absolutely LOVE kids of all ages. I can be a little anxious around new people sometimes, but I’m super smart and I warm up eventually.
I love belly rubs, treats, playing with my puppies, and lounging in the sun. My favorite treats are soup bones! Hanging out with people and getting attention makes me so happy. I may be a little shy at first, but once you get to know me, I’m loving and energetic! My ideal home would be one that can give me patience and attention as I get acclimated to my new surroundings. If you can give me lots of snuggles, treats, and a nice comfy bed, you’ll win my heart! I’m ready to relax and settle into a new groove. Do I sound like the pup for you? You can fill out an application to adopt me at http://www.thecantufoundation.org/adopt.html. The adoption fee is $300. Just remember this quote by Hanako Ishii: “Money can’t buy happiness. But, it can buy Chocolate, which is pretty much the same thing!”
