Hey there, I’m Dakota! I’m a 5.5 month old female Lab/Whippet mix weighing about 24 pounds right now but I’ll keep growing!

I was brought to The Cantù Foundation sanctuary by a good samaritan who saw me almost get run over by a car! It was scary but I’m so glad to be off the streets now, safe in my foster home. I love all dogs, cats and human kids!

I’m still just a puppy so I’m definitely hoping my new family understands the time needed to help me learn my good doggy manners so I grow up to be well behaved. I’m still working on my potty training and leash training. I’m not crate trained yet. I have big bursts of puppy energy and can’t wait to spend a lot of time playing with my new family. I mellow out after playtime.

I have a small bit of anxiety when I go into new spaces but I adjust quickly especially with some positive reinforcement from the humans that I trust. I love to cuddle and give so many kisses! My big girl teeth are starting to come in so I love to chew on my toys a lot!

I will do great in any type of home! I love to play with everyone, dog or human. I need a home that will keep me active inside and/or outside. I can be left alone but not for too long since I am still working on my potty training. It would be cool if someone in my new family has a job where they get to work from home sometimes!
