Mama Lupita here, looking for my retirement home.
Hi there! I am Lupita and I’ve had a busy few months and am ready to settle down with you in my forever home. I am a 5 year old female shepherd mix. The awesome people at The Cantu Foundation found me and saved me while I was wandering around Mexico alone. I am so thankful for that because it turned out I was pregnant when they found me! I was able to find a foster home to give birth to my 8 puppies and they are healthy and beautiful, though I might be biased. Now that my pups are thriving and growing up I am ready to find a new home of my own!
I weigh about 45 pounds, am basically completely potty trained with just an occasional pee pad use indoors. I am good at letting my foster mom know if I need to go outside. I do well on a leash and don’t pull. I am comfortable hanging out in my crate and love that my foster mom leaves the door open so I can go in there whenever I want. I hope my new family will do the same for me. I sometimes need to be introduced slowly to bigger dogs because I bark at them at first. I do well with small dogs too. I haven’t met a cat… I like kids but as with dogs, a nice controlled introduction is important. Since my past was lonely I do take a few minutes to warm up to new people. It just takes a bit to get past my nerves. I warm up to kids the fastest!
I am calm, patient and lovable. I’d do great in most homes especially with proper introductions and people who understand that I’m excited to go to a new home but just need a little patience! I’m very calm mannered and really hope to just snuggle with you on the couch everyday. Chicken and rice are my favorite foods! I’d do well in a home with no other dogs or one small dog. My human siblings should be elementary school age or older. I appreciate my low energy time most of the day and I love company but also do well on my own in the home. I am ready to be your loyal companion! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering and vetting care.
