Hi! Name’s Sammi, and I’m an 1 year old, female, Terrier-mix weighing around 25 lbs. I’m here because The Cantu Foundation plucked me from obscurity, pregnant and homeless in Mexico. Sadly, I lost all my puppers to distemper. I even tested positive myself, but luckily showed no symptoms and managed to beat the disease. It’s safe to say I’ve had a ruff go these past 18-months. But hey, I’m leash, potty, and crate trained so I have that going for me!
A little about me - I love to cuddle. Especially with mini hoomans! I also love me a game of fetch in the backyard followed by a little sunbathing session. I do get anxiety about collars and leashes, but I’m making strides and showing improvement every day. I haven’t been around any other doggos due to the distemper, and I’m not certain how I feel about cats, but let’s stay optimistic here, shall we? Leaving me home alone from time to time is totally fine. I’ll find a nice spot to curl up and enjoy some down time before I’m back on hooman cuddling duty. Despite my past, I have a sweet, happy-go-lucky demeanor that could win over any old skeptic. After all, I’m a survivor and I’m happy to be here!
My perfect furever home would be with someone who can give me attention and help me feel comfortable and secure on a leash. If you have dogs, that should be fine! Just introduce us properly and I’m sure we’ll become fast furrends. So, is it you, is it you?! Let’s make it woof-icial. My adoption fee is $450.
