“I’m very real, very sincere, and honest, and that’s how I’ll always be.” – Selena Quintanilla
Hola friends! It’s me, Selena! No, not the singer – but feel free to compare us! I’m a 30 pound, three or four year old English pointer mix, but I’m also a superstar, just like the human Selena was! Maybe that’s how I got my name. I’m not spayed or fully vaccinated yet, but I will be in time. I am perfectly potty trained, though, and I’m pretty good at walking on a leash, too. I pull a little bit, but it’s not so bad. I’m not crate trained, but that’s because I’ve never needed to be crated; I don’t show any signs of separation anxiety.
I was found as a stray in Mexicali. One of the fosters from TCF moved there for the summer, and one day she came outside and found me! It was 95 degrees out there and I was HOT. The foster gave me food and water, so I started coming back every day. And that’s how I ended up getting rescued! I’m dog friendly, and probably kid friendly too, although I haven’t met any yet. I haven’t met any cats either, but who knows – maybe I’ll like them as well! My foster momma says I’m SO sweet; I love to cuddle and be near my people! I’m a perfect little lap dog: I’m very mellow inside the house, and I barely ever bark. I get very excited to go for walkies and to get food – I’m super food motivated, which means it’s easier to train me. Not that I need much training! I can be left alone in the house no problem, and I sleep quietly through the night in my doggie bed.
My favorite thing to do is snuggle with someone on the couch. My foster momma says that if she could describe me in three words, they would be “sweet,” “cute,” and “loving.” That sounds right to me! I could be happy in any home, but I think I’d be happiest in a home where I’m allowed to lay on the couch with my people. Loud noises sometimes scare me, but I get braver and more comfortable every day. Do you think you’re ready for a celebrity like me to join your family? You can apply to adopt me at http://www.thecantufoundation.org/adopt.html, and it only costs $350! That includes my vaccination and spay fees too, so I’d call that a steal. Hope to meet you soon! ?
