Before I found my safe haven with The Cantu Foundation, life was a bit of a whirlwind. My name is Happy, a 3-year-old Lab/Husky mix, 55lbs and not long ago, I was navigating the busy streets of Mexico with a very important job: protecting my eleven tiny puppies. I poured every ounce of my being into caring for them, ensuring they had everything I could offer, until I was truly running on empty. Thankfully, a kind soul spotted our little family, scooped us up, and brought us to a place where we finally knew what true safety felt like.
Squeaky Toy Enthusiast: I may have survived the streets, but these days my biggest concern is finding the next squeaky toy to pounce on and proudly parade around.
The Outdoor Greeter :Walks are my favorite, not just for the fresh air, but because I love to say a quick hello to every dog I meet along the way.
Cozy Corner Seeker : After all my past adventures, Ive decided Ive earned my own quiet spot at bedtime, preferring my own comfy bed to a lap.
Gentle & Loving: Im a sweet and calm girl who's eager to please, melting hearts with just a look, and perfectly content just being near my people.
Despite my past, Im a wonderfully sweet and calm girl who truly loves people. I'm fully potty trained and while I might pull just a little when something exciting catches my eye on our adventures, I trot along happily, eager to explore the world with you. My independent streak means Im not a dog who needs constant attention, and come bedtime, I'll happily pick my own cozy spot to sleep soundly, valuing my personal space after all the caretaking I did. I thrive in a home where my guardians understand I appreciate my calm, self-sufficient nature and my own corner to call home. I haven't quite gotten the hang of a crate, but my gentle demeanor means I'm happy to relax in the home with you. Give me a squeaky toy, and my whole face lights up, turning me into an absolute goofball who loves to play. I'm not needy or demanding; I just want my people, my squeaky toys, and my own little spot to feel safe and loved.
My adoption fee is $400, this fee covers my first year of vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchip. Do I sound like the dog for you? You can fill out an application to adopt me at http://www.thecantufoundation.org/adopt.html
