Hi, I’m Hiccup!

I’m a playful, high-energy Carolina dog/basenji mix, born on April 5, 2024, and expected to grow to around 35 pounds.

My story started on the streets of Rosarito, where I was found and taken in by the rescue for a routine spay—somehow, I never left! Turns out, I was just too lovable to say goodbye to, and now I’m on the hunt for my forever home. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate pup who is always ready for action, I might just be your perfect match!

A little more about me:

I’ve got a lot of puppy energy, so I’ll thrive in a home that keeps me engaged and moving. I’m almost fully potty trained (so close!), but I’m still learning leash manners. Crates? Not my thing yet, but with patience, I’ll get there. I do have a bit of separation anxiety—when you leave, I might bark or scratch for a bit, but I do settle down. I’m also a little hesitant when meeting new dogs and some people, but once I warm up, I’m all love and zoomies!

What’s my dream home?

I’d do best in an active household with a yard and another playful dog to keep me company. If you love outdoor adventures, have patience for puppy training, and are looking for a fun, affectionate companion, I think we’d be a great team!
