Hi there! Im Taz

Im a 5-year-old mix of Belgian Malinois, Australian Kelpie, and Flat-Coated Retriever, but most importantly, Im a certified good boy with a big heart. I weigh about 45 lbs and have come a long way from my early days in a tough shelter in Ensenada, Mexico where I was kept in a crate for 24hrs a day. The Cantu Foundation rescued me, and my personality and determination to thrive have shined ever since!

What makes me special:

World-Class Snuggle Bug: I had a rough start, but I have blossomed into an incredibly loyal, affectionate, and cuddly companion. If you love a shadow who always wants to be by your side, Im your guy.

Crate & House Trained Champ: Ive made massive strides with my separation anxiety! Im completely potty trained, sleep soundly through the night, and actually love my crate. I often head in there on my own just to relax during the day.

A+ on the Leash: Im wonderful on walks and have great leash manners, making adventures together easy and enjoyable.

Beach & Adventure Lover: Car rides are my happy place, I love being outdoors, and the beach is one of my favorite places to explore! Rain and baths still arent my favorite, but I gladly accept towel rubs and brushing sessions afterward.

Smart Cookie & Good Friend: I learn new commands quickly, have even figured out how to open doors, and do well with other dogs after proper introductions.

Built a Little Different: When I was a puppy, I likely injured my leg before I was rescued, which caused it to stop growing normally. These days its mostly there for moral support and aesthetics! I do almost everything on three legs without even thinking about it. I can run, hike, zoom around, play with other dogs, and keep up just fine. It doesnt slow me down, limit my endurance, or stop me from living my best life. Most people are far more concerned about my leg than I am!

My dream home:

Id love a home with a yard for my zoomies, an active person or family who enjoys walks and outdoor adventures, and plenty of opportunities for couch cuddles afterward. Ive worked incredibly hard to build my confidence, and all Im looking for now is someone to share life with.

My adoption fee is $300, which includes my vaccinations, neuter, and microchip.
