If you're looking for a delightful dose of dapple-dog devotion, then daschun-exactly who I am! Hi there, I'm Kuleana, a sweet and sassy 8 year-old Dachshund mix, weighing in at a perfect 20 pounds. My journey took a little detour when my previous family decided they couldn't keep me, but here at the sanctuary, I've rediscovered just how much joy a girl like me can bring. They say I have an incredibly resilient spirit, and it's true! I've bounced back with a heart full of love, ready to find my forever family.
I come with a few special qualities that my foster parents absolutely gush about:
Shadow Sweetheart – I'm a true Velcro dog, happiest when I'm your 24/7 sidekick, following you around like your personal shadow, always eager to please.
Clever Cookie – My smarts shine through; I'm completely potty trained, even know how to use a doggy door, and I'm a perfect loose leash walker who absolutely loves our adventures outside.
Heart of Gold – Despite my past, my heart is full of boundless love for all humans, and I’m always thrilled to make new doggy friends.
Joyful Jumper – I show my appreciation with the sweetest thank-you kisses after meals, happy stares that tell you how much I adore you, and my signature "jumpy-jumps" whenever you walk through the door.
My gentle temperament makes me an easy fit for most homes. I'm wonderful with other dogs, always ready for a friendly sniff and perhaps a playful romp. While I'm good with kids, I'd probably thrive best in a home with older, more considerate children who understand my dainty Dachshund ways. I'm completely comfortable in my crate when you need to step out, and honestly, the staff here can't find a single flaw in my personality. I’m just a love bug who craves companionship and promises to make every day a little brighter.
My adoption fee is $350, this fee covers my first year of vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchip. Do I sound like the dog for you? You can fill out an application to adopt me at http://www.thecantufoundation.org/adopt.html
