Hi, I’m Rue! I’m a 2-year-old Pug mix girl weighing about 20 pounds, and I’m basically a professional cuddle bug with a tiny side of comedian. I’m spayed, almost fully potty trained, crate trained, and I walk beautifully on a leash—so yes, I’m pretty much the total package. My story started a little rough. I spent much of my life tied up outside in a hallway, often perched up high on tables or dog houses just trying to observe the world safely from above. But now I’m learning what it means to be loved, safe, and part of a family. Even after everything, I’ve remained incredibly sweet, gentle, and full of love to give.

Here’s why everyone falls in love with me:

Snuggle Specialist – My favorite hobby is cuddling with my foster mom and following her around like her tiny shadow.

Sweet & Easygoing – I’m calm, well-behaved, and happy just being near my people.

Social Butterfly in Training – I love other dogs, do great with cats, and I’m slowly building confidence with humans every day.

Adventure-Ready Sidekick – I love walks, ride well in the car, and would happily join you for daily strolls and errands.

I can still be a little shy at first because of my past, but once I trust you, I become the most affectionate little companion. I have mild anxiety while adjusting to new situations, but I don’t have separation anxiety and settle in nicely. I’m not overly energetic or demanding—I’m more of a “let’s cuddle on the couch and then go for a nice walk” kind of girl. I also have a funny habit of climbing up high to supervise everything going on around me. Old habits die hard, but honestly? It’s pretty adorable.

My dream home would be with someone who loves cuddles as much as I do. I’d thrive in a calm, loving environment where I can continue building confidence and enjoying the cozy life I’ve always deserved. I’d love another friendly dog buddy, but I’d also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention myself. Mostly, I just want to be near my humans and finally enjoy being someone’s cherished little companion.

My adoption fee is $400, this fee covers my first year of vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchip. Do I sound like the dog for you? You can fill out an application to adopt me at http://www.thecantufoundation.org
