Hi, I’m Grizzly! I’m a chill, sweet, and cuddly flat coated retriever mix born in November 2017, which makes me a young 8, and I’m about 56 pounds of pure, velvety love. My story started in a tough place, I came from a hoarding case in Ensenada, but thanks to some amazing humans at The Cantu Foundation, I’m finally getting the soft couch and gentle pets every dog deserves. Now I’m ready for the best chapter yet: finding my forever family!

Here’s the scoop on me:

Cuddle King – If snuggling were an Olympic sport, I’d bring home the gold. My favorite thing in the whole world is getting pets from my humans… and then getting more pets… and then maybe just one more.

Certified Sweetheart – I’m extremely affectionate, friendly with people, and while I can be a tiny bit timid at first, I warm up quickly and gently. Kids I meet on walks always get a polite wag from me!

Dog-Friendly Dude – I love all dogs. Big, small, fluffy, wiggly—I’m happy to hang with them all.

Easygoing Companion – With mild energy and a love for lounging, I’m a relaxed buddy who’s just as happy napping as I am shadowing you from room to room.

Potty & Crate Pro – Fully potty trained and crate trained? Yup—that’s me! I’ve got the basics down pat.

Leash Learner + Stair Student – I walk decently on a leash but could use a little brush-up to be my best gentleman self. And stairs? I used to find them scary, but now I’m conquering them like a champ—no treats required!

Car Ride Curious + Playtime Apprentice – I’ve taken a couple short car rides and did great; long trips are still new territory, but I’m hopeful. I’m also slowly figuring out the whole “play” thing and showing more interest each day.

What’s my dream home?

I’m pretty adaptable. I’d love a family who wants a devoted, gentle companion and doesn’t mind me snuggling on the couch. A quiet or moderately active home would be ideal, and another friendly dog would be a sweet bonus, but I’m perfectly happy being your one and only, too.
